On August 15, 2026, LIXIL VINA conducted a company-wide firefighting, emergency evacuation, rescue, and first-aid drill involving all workplaces. The annual exercise is part of LIXIL VINA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen safety awareness, enhance emergency preparedness and improve coordination among departments across the factory.
This year, the exercise introduced an important change designed to make the scenario closer to a real emergency, allowing the company to assess not only knowledge and procedures but also the organization’s ability to respond to an unexpected situation.
Creating a more realistic emergency scenario
Unlike previous exercises, the location of the simulated fire was not announced in advance.Even the department responsible for the firefighting and rescue response was informed of the simulated fire location only 10 minutes before the exercise.
By limiting advance information, the drill was designed to test the complete emergency response process under more realistic conditions — from detection and reporting to communication, evacuation, headcounts, incident command, firefighting, rescue and interdepartmental coordination.
Once the emergency announcement was made, employees followed evacuation procedures and moved to designated assembly points.
Strengthening coordination across the factory
Effective emergency response depends not only on individual actions, but also on strong coordination between teams and departments. Fire response members from each department first assembled and reported their status before receiving instructions from the incident command team.
At the same time, rescue and first-aid teams prepared to respond to simulated casualties, including procedures for approaching, assisting and transporting injured persons.
Through hands-on practice, participants were able to better understand their individual responsibilities while also recognizing the importance of accurate communication, organized action and teamwork during the critical first moments of an emergency.
Developing practical firefighting and first-aid skills
Following the evacuation drill, participants also took part in practical exercises and competitions on firefighting team deployment and first-aid skills. The program provided employees with an opportunity to apply their safety knowledge in practice, reinforce essential emergency-response skills and learn from colleagues across the organization.
By regularly practicing these procedures, safety knowledge can be transformed into the ability to act quickly and appropriately when an unexpected situation occurs.
